This bike is based on the SuperLow 883 model, but the new 1200T has the same fork angle, radial tires and wheel sizes that are tuned and chosen as a package to reduce the steering effort. The 1200T has an electrical update including a revised wiring harness, a digital tachometer and an analog speedometer. Also, there is a new side cover and oil tank that are designed for easier access to the diagnostic terminal and the battery. Harley added a clear, 14 inch polycarbonate windscreen that is able of being modified on the fork, to make the 1200cc Sportster touring-friendly. This asks for loosening the mounting brackets and to move them up and down, all that depends on the rider preference. Thanks to the quick-release latches, popping the windscreen off altogether is easier. The windscreen is functioning well, and diverts the air over the crown of the head of the rider with a little wind that is coming up from underneath. They also added a set of locking saddlebags that are wrapped in black vinyl. They pop very easily only with only a push of the button that is placed on top, the lid swinging outwards. The 2014 SuperLow 1200T also has updated brakes and suspension. The rear suspension now has a preload adjustable emulsion shock with a convenient hand dial that is placed on the left side, the dial accessible with the bag on, and the right side has a twin tube shock. About the braking system, this bike has new dual-piston 34mm Nissin calipers that go together with a bigger front rotor, a 300mm disc that replaces the 292 one. The two front and back all-aluminum master cylinders have been updated too. The ABS is an option on the 1200T that costs $795, and that money are really well spent. The 1200T is all-Sportster, powered by a 1200cc Evolution V-Twin, 3.5 inch pistons hammering away at a 3.81 inch stroke inside the aluminum cylinders. Clutch pull is light and it is easy to bang through the gears, the 1200T equipped with the standard Sportster 5 speed gearbox. The fuel system is EFI. The Sportster SuperLow 1200T is the perfect bike for those who are too small or maybe only want a smaller bike than the Switchback. It went from a street prowler to highway drifter by adding a windshield, displacement, a bigger seat and saddlebags and larger winglike pegs. Some other details are that the front turn signals are mounted on the lower triple clamp just to increase the handlebar adjustment range, the brakes that have a single 300mm front rotor with braided stainless steel lines, the lockable saddlebags are covered in a durable black vinyl, the cast aluminum wheels are a 5 spoke design, and an optional factory-installed ABS.
